Jeonghwan (Jayden) Lee

Hi, I am a fourth-year Ph.D. student in the Department of Statistics at the University of Chicago. I am very fortunated to be advised by Professors Cong Ma and Chao Gao. My doctoral study is currently supported by Kwanjeong Educational Foundation.

I received my Bachelor's degree in Mathematical Sciences from KAIST on Feb. 2022 with honors (Summa Cum Laude and the KAIST Presidential Award).

Research interest

I am broadly interested in the span of statistics, econometrics, machine learning, and mathematics of data science. My research interest lies in the following disciplines:

  • Statistics and econometrics: high-dimensional and non-parametric statistics, causal inference.

  • Machine learning (ML) and mathematics of data science: theoretical foundations of generative models and large language models (LLMs), optimization, statistical learning under distribution shift.
